Community Giving describes the activities related to Emergent’s charitable donations and employee volunteerism that help foster thriving communities where we operate. These requests are reviewed by employee-led teams and should generally fit within one of our community focus areas:
- Advance Public Health: We strive to improve the health and well-being of communities through areas that align with our industry and operational expertise.
- Educate Tomorrow’s Scientific Leaders: We support STEM programs that cultivate promising young scientists and broaden participation of groups underrepresented in scientific fields to advance STEM literacy and inspire tomorrow’s STEM-capable workforce.
- Protect Those Who Protect Us: We partner with organizations committed to assisting military veterans and their families, as well as healthcare workers and first responders, to ensure that they are well-supported professionally, medically, and emotionally.
To be considered for a community charitable donation, the organization must be geographically near (within 20 miles), or specifically serve one of the following areas:

- Bern, Switzerland
- Canton, MA
- Dublin, Ireland
- Gaithersburg, MD
- Hattiesburg, MS
- Lansing, MI
- Philadelphia, PA
- Redwood City, CA
- Rockville, MD
- San Diego, CA
- Toronto, Ontario
- Winnipeg, Manitoba
- Washington D.C.
All charitable donation requests are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
