Emergent is proud to announce this year’s Emergent Scholars:
- Mia Allie | Parent: Thomas Allie, Canton
- Nitish Natesan | Parent: Sadhishkumar Natesan, Lansing
- Hairah Kayaga | Parent: Aidah Nanyanzi, MDCW Elkridge
These students will each receive a $3,500 merit-based scholarship to pursue their education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university or vocational technical school.
Emergent Scholars recognizes the hard work and dedication of the students. The program was established in 2018 in partnership with the late Executive Chairman of the Board, Fuad El-Hibri, to acknowledge academic excellence. Eight years later, Emergent has awarded a total of 36 scholarships totaling $126,000 to date.
Scholarship America, Emergent’s third-party partner, accepted submissions, conducted evaluations, and selected winners to ensure neutrality. They identified three students from the applicant pool whose academic and extracurricular efforts stood out.
“Emergent Scholars is not only about educating tomorrow’s scientific leaders, but also a demonstration of our commitment to employees and their families,” says Alyssa Sherman-Shepard, director, ESG and CSR. “We’re proud to help our employees’ children take the next step in their education by contributing through this scholarship.”
Congratulations to the 2025 Emergent Scholars!
