Simon is an experienced physician scientist and healthcare leader who is dedicated to advancing science to improve outcomes for patients. He brings over 25 years of experience in clinical medicine and development to help drive innovation and scientific excellence. Before joining Emergent, he served as chief executive officer for Mysthera Therapeutics AG, an early-stage biotechnology company engaged in the development of PIM kinase inhibitors as therapeutics for autoimmune diseases. Simon is a graduate of Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine and worked in internal medicine in the UK and in Australia before joining the pharmaceutical industry. He has extensive experience in multiple therapeutic areas, including rheumatology and pain, oncology, critical care, dermatology and immunology, ophthalmology and transplant.
